MCM girls, Ethan/Parkston boys place first at E/P early bird

PARKSTON-The Ethan/Parkston boys and the McCook Central/Montrose girls won the E/P early bird track and field meet on Tuesday in Parkston.

In the boys division, E/P placed first with 187 points, while MCM took second with 116 points and Sanborn Central/Woonsocket finished third with 96. The MCM girls won with 137 points, while E/P and Wagner tied for second with 124 points.

Jacy Pulse won four events for the Fighting Cougars, taking the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.71 seconds. Pulse also won the 200 (26.26), 400 (1:00.75) and 100 hurdles (15.71).

MCM's Jocelyn Krouse won the long jump, with a leap of 16 feet, 2 inches, and the triple jump (33-7). Morgan Koepsell won the shot put with a toss of 33-7 and the Fighting Cougars won the girls 4x400 (4:39.47).

E/P's McKenzie Prunty won the 300 hurdles (53.83), while Mollie Miller won the 800 (2:39.05) and the team took first in the 4x100 (54.05).

Wagner's Alcista Dion won the 3,200 (13:23.39), Britney Krcil won the pole vault (7-0), Janae Patterson won the discus (103-8.5) and the team won the 4x800 relay (10:52.76).

SCW's Myah Selland won the high jump with a leap of 5-0, while Mitchell Christian's Adaya Plastow won the 1,600 (5:49.38) and Tripp-Delmont/Armour won the 4x200 relay (1:54.74).

In boys events, E/P's Tulsa Janish won the 100 (11.22), 200 (23.77), while the team took home the 4x100 and 4x200 relays.

Mitchell Christian's Zach Bosworth won the long jump (18-10) and 800 (2:22.23), while Wagner's Stephon St. Pierre won the 100 hurdles (16.35) and 300 hurdles (44.7).
