SALEM-The McCook baseball team jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and didn't look back en route to a 8-2 win over Lennox on Monday in Salem.
McCook added five runs in the bottom of the second inning and one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning, while Jordan Genzlinger picked up the win on the mound. Genzlinger allowed two earned runs off five hits with nine strikeouts in five innings pitched.
McCook took advantage of five Lennox errors and finished the game with seven hits. Kohl Miller had two hits, including a double, and an RBI, while Jesse Muth added two hits and two RBIs in the win.
McCook (4-1) plays West Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Salem.
