SALEM -- McCook/Miner took an early lead and never let go in a 6-1 win over Alexandria in Legion baseball action on Thursday.
Isaac Feldhaus went 2-for-4 with three RBIs in the win. Bobby Koepsell added a pair of hits and drove in two runs for McCook/Miner, which had six hits. It scored two runs in the first inning, and then tacked on two more in both the fifth and sixth innings.
Peyton Cleveland struck out eight batters, as he went the distance to earn the win. He allowed an unearned run on three hits.
Reggie Slaba, Peyton Schroeder and Ben Laufman all had a hit for Alexandria. Casey Haynes suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs in an inning.
McCook/Miner improves to 1-1. Alexandria (0-1) travels to Parkston on Tuesday.
