SALEM-McCook/Miner Post 61 surrendered 14 hits to Humboldt/Hartford Post 62 on Tuesday in a 14-4 loss in Legion baseball action.

Humboldt/Hartford initially capitalized on McCook/Miner miscues to create some separation as part of a six-run fifth inning. McCook/Miner gave up four walks and two errors in the frame and ended up trailing 9-1.

McCook/Miner came back in the ensuing inning to cut into the lead on three consecutive singles, including a two-run poke from Kyle Tuschen and an RBI by Sam Gillespie. The rally was cut short, though, as Humboldt/Hartford five runs on five hits in the top of the seventh.

Kalub Carmichael went 3-for-4, while Mitch Kramer was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Three McCook/Miner pitchers gave up nine earned runs on 14 hits and eight walks. Tuschen had five strikeouts in four innings, while Kramer had four.

McCook/Miner (3-2) travels to Volga on Thursday.
