Mason Miller -- the son of former Mitchell Kernel basketball player Mike Miller -- will play college basketball at Creighton. Miller announced his commitment Monday on Twitter. Creighton and Indiana were his two finalists.
Miller is a 6-foot-9, 190-pound power forward at Houston High School (Tenn.). He also received Division I offers from Memphis, Ohio State, TCU and LSU, among others.

Miller, a consensus four-star prospect, is the 65th-ranked player in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports. He’s the 67th-ranked player in the class, according to Rivals.com.

Last season, Miller helped Houston (29-4) reach its first boys basketball state tournament appearance before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Miller was a second-team all-metro selection last year.
Houston will play in the Hoop City Classic on Dec. 28-30 in Mitchell and Sioux Falls. Houston will play Arizona Compass Prep on Dec. 28 at the Sanford Pentagon. Houston will also play Brandon Valley on Dec. 29 at the Pentagon and Thunder Basin (Wyo.) on Dec. 30 at the Corn Palace.
Miller headlines Houston’s highly-touted roster. Six-foot-10 center Jerrell Colbert (LSU signee) and three-star point guard T.J. Madlock also headline the Mustangs. Mavrick Miller -- Mike Miller’s youngest son -- is a 6-foot-5 sophomore for the Mustangs. Mike Miller is the head coach of the Mustangs.
