RAPID CITY - Katelyn Uithoven made 29 saves and the Mitchell Marlins girls hockey team picked up a 3-0 shutout victory over Rushmore Friday night in Rapid City.
The Marlins took the lead on a pair of second period goals. Grace Halvorson put home a goal and was assisted by Ashley Zimmer to give Mitchell a 1-0 lead and Rebecca Weber scored with less than three minutes left for a 2-0 advantage, assisted by Halvorson.
Jenna Grosdidier bagged a power play goal with less than a minute left to set the final margin for Mitchell and was assisted by Weber.
The Thunder outshot Mitchell 29-25.
Mitchell (5-5) plays two more games with Rushmore this weekend, starting at 2:30 p.m. today, followed by 9 a.m. contest Sunday.
