WATERTOWN -- The Mitchell Marlins boys hockey team couldn’t find the back of the net in a 10-0 loss to Watertown on Saturday in its season opener.
Watertown scored two goals in the first period, and then scored four in each of the final two periods to take down the Marlins. The Lakers held a 29-23 advantage in shots on goal, including 21-10 in the final two periods.
Trey Allard, Austin Green, Blair Boomsma and Max Evans all finished with two goals. Drake Jerke saved 19 of 29 shots for Mitchell.
Mitchell (0-1) hosts Rushmore at 8 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the Mitchell Activity Center.
