Marlin boys drop fourth straight game

The Mitchell Marlins boys hockey team stumbled out of the gates and couldn't recover in its 7-0 loss to Sioux Falls on Friday at the Mitchell Activity Center.

The Mitchell Marlins boys hockey team stumbled out of the gates and couldn't recover in its 7-0 loss to Sioux Falls on Friday at the Mitchell Activity Center.

Nathan Fanning, of Sioux Falls, netted the Flyers first goal 15 seconds into the game. The Flyers added three more goals in the opening period and three in the second. Sam Siegel and Braden Malwitz both finished with a pair of goals.

Sioux Falls outshot the Marlins 29-22, including an 18-4 advantage in the second. Both teams went 0-for-3 on power plays and spent eight minutes in the penalty box.

Mitchell (2-4) travels to Aberdeen today.
