Malone took third place at the Hastings Open

HASTINGS, Neb. -- Darien Malone paced the Dakota Wesleyan University wrestling team on Saturday at the Hastings Open.

Malone finished in third place at 133 pounds for the Tigers, while Kyle Mullaney (285) took fourth place.

Mitchell native Ryan McGinnis (157) went 1-2, though won via pin in his first collegiate match. Carter Max (197), who also wrestled at Mitchell High School, went 1-2, as well.

DWU wrestles Doane and Bethany College on Wednesday in Crete, Nebraska.
