SIOUX FALLS-The top prep seniors in South Dakota basketball shined Sunday at the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association Sanford Pentagon All-Star Game in Sioux Falls.
In the girls competition, the White team scored 28 points in the fourth quarter and defeated the Blue team, 95-89. For the White team, Wagner's Ali Kuca knocked down five 3-pointers, scoring 17 points and had six rebounds. St. Thomas More's Ciara Duffy scored 27 points to lead all scorers in the victory and she tacked on 12 rebounds for the White squad. Mount Vernon/Plankinton's Megan Bultsma had seven points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Winner's Allison Cox had seven points and six rebounds for the winners.
Kynedi Cheeseman, of Hanson, led the Blue team with 18 points. Sioux Falls Washington's Anna Goodhope and Huron's Sarah Carr each scored 17 points.
In the boys contest, the Blue team won 112-107. Mitchell Christian's Majok Kur had 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Eight players scored in double-digits, led by Watertown's Nate Davis' 16 points.
On the White team, Winner's Devon Leiferman had four points and three rebounds. Dell Rapids' Ty Hoglund scored 18 points in the loss, leading seven double-figure scorers on the team.
