The Mitchell Kernel track and field team will be hosting the Little Kernel track meet on Thursday, May 12, at Joe Quintal Field.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and events will start at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to boys and girls in grades K-5.

Events include the 50, 100 and 200-meter dashes, along with the long jump and the softball throw.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "Mitchell Republic." Often, the "Mitchell Republic" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
