YANKTON-Mitchell White struck early in both games of a Thursday doubleheader against Yankton, but failed to hold on in either game. It fell to Yankton 3-1 in Game 1 and 9-5 in the second game.
Karter Sibson scored on a passed ball in the first inning for Mitchell's only run of the first game. Yankton responded, scoring three runs between the second and third frames, highlighted by Owen Wishon's RBI single in the third.
Peyton Mandel and Blake Brosz each had one of Mitchell's two hits. In fact, Sibson getting hit by a pitch in the sixth was Mitchell's only baserunner after the second inning. Landen Soulek tossed a complete game, but suffered the loss. He allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits.
Yankton's Cohen Zarbach earned the win, striking out four over six innings.
In the second game, Mitchell scored the first five runs, highlighted by RBI singles from Connor Degen and Colin Stange. Yankton ended the game by scoring nine unanswered runs between the fourth and fifth innings, though.

Mitchell and Yankton both had seven hits, though Mitchell also committed five errors. Lincoln Bates suffered the loss, striking out three and allowing four earned runs over 3 1/3 innings. Sibson conceded five unearned runs in the final 1 2/3 innings.
Mitchell (4-7) hosts Renner on Tuesday.
