The Mitchell Christian boys basketball team earned a dominating opening win on Friday, defeating Iroquois 48-21 in Mitchell.
"For the first game of the year, I was pleasantly surprised," Mitchell Christian head coach Dennis Martin said. "We moved the ball really well and hit some shots. It went really well for us."
Leading the Golden Eagles offensively was Majok Kur, who finished with 22 points.
"Majok ran the court really well for us," Martin said. "We were really pleased with his all around effort on both ends of the court."
Zach Bosworth also contributed to the victory with 17 points and shot 8-of-10 from the field.

The Chiefs were with 10 points from Kenneth Nelson and nine points from Jacob Bich.
Mitchell Christian (1-0) takes on Kimball/White Lake at 8 p.m. on Thursday in Kimball, while Iroquois (0-1) faces Estelline on Monday in Iroquois.
