HURON -- The Mitchell High School gymnastics meet captured the Eastern South Dakota Conference gymnastics meet on Saturday.
The Kernels finished with 146.800 points, finishing of rival Watertown (143.550) and Harrisburg (143.250).
Mitchell’s Joslin Sommerville claimed the all-around title with a 37.450, while Watertown’s Brooke Bollinger (37.100) placed second. Kyra Gropper (36.550) finished third for the Kernels.
Sommerville won the beam with a 9.400, while Mitchell’s Emily Moody (9.450) won the vault. Sommerville (9.400) was just behind in second and Gropper (9.200) placed fourth.
In the bars, Sommerville took second with a 9.350 and Olivia Prunty (9.100) tied for fourth place. In the floor, Gropper and Mitchell’s Sidney Malde (9.350) tied for third place.

Mitchell will compete in the state gymnastics meet on Feb. 13 in Watertown.
