BROOKINGS-The Mitchell High School girls golf team took 10th place at the Brookings Invite on Thursday in Brookings.
Mitchell carded a team score of 404, which was the team's best score this season. Sioux Falls O'Gorman won the 13-team event with a 345.
Mitchell's Kailee Henglefelt and Masy Mock each tied for 34th with a score of 98, while Ashley Zimmer carded a 103.
"Kailee and Masy played really well," Mitchell head coach Keri Munsen said. "They were happy they shot some of the lowest scores of the season. They were hitting some good shots and playing the course smart."
Jordyn Cranny finished with a 105, while Kaitlyn Uithoven and Shannen Koch each recorded a 115 to round out Mitchell's team score.

"We worked a lot on fundamentals with everyone's shot and swing,' Munsen said. "That helped them a lot."
Munsen added the team would like to shoot a team score under 400 before the season ends and the Kernels were only five strokes away on Thursday.
O'Gorman's Jamie Benedict won the individual title with a 76.
Mitchell competes at the Watertown Invite on Monday in Watertown.
