SIOUX FALLS -- The Mitchell High School girls tennis team picked up a fourth win during the long weekend when it downed Sioux Falls Roosevelt, 7-2, on the road on Monday.
Roosevelt won at Flight 1 singles and Flight 1 doubles, but the Kernels won the other seven matches in straight sets. Mitchell didn’t drop more than five games in any of its wins.
Olivia Huber (Flight 2) took down Danica Hubers, 6-3, 6-0.
"Olivia Huber has been playing solid tennis all year long," MHS coach Pat Moller said. "... She continued to improve her doubles game, and has been very strong in singles."
Amber Moller (Flight 3) defeated Kaylee Updegraff, 6-2, 6-2. Meanwhile, Julia Platt (Flight 4) only dropped one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win over Lauren Betsworth. In Flight 5, Kiersten Bathke picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win over Emily Riedemann, while Megan Mastel (Flight 6) notched a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Allie Weber.

Mitchell (14-3) hosts Sioux Falls Washington at 4 p.m. Thursday.
"(Washington) has three-to-four times as many kids to pick from than Mitchell does," Moller said. "... We'll certainly be ready to play."
