YANKTON -- The Mitchell High School gymnastics team captured the team title at the Yankton Triangular on Monday. The Kernels finished with 143.200 points, finishing ahead of Yankton (129.950) and Parkston/Ethan/Hanson/Mount Vernon (108.600).
Mitchell’s Emily Moody won the all-around title with 35.700 points, while also winning the beam with 9.0500 points. Moody and teammate Bentley Bates also tied for first in the floor (9.3500).
Bates placed third in the all-around with 34.650 points and also captured bars (8.9000).
The Kernels will compete at the Lolly Forseth Invitational on Saturday at Sioux Falls Washington.
