SIOUX FALLS-The Mitchell High School girls golf team placed 10th at the Warrior Invite on Monday at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
Mitchell carded a team score of 390 at the event, while Sioux Falls O'Gorman won the event with a score of 304.
"The girls didn't do well very well and they struggled at the course," Mitchell head coach Keri Munsen said. "The girls said the greens were really fast and that hurt some of our scores."
Mitchell's Kaitlyn Uithoven led Mitchell with a score of 101, while Ashley Zimmer and Kaylie Zens each finished with a score of 108. Jordyn Cranny and Kailee Henglefelt each carded 109s and Makayla Grissom had a 121.
"Every tournament is going to be new for them," Munsen said. "Every course is a new experience and they'll learn from these experiences."

O'Gorman's Emily Olson won the event with a score of 75.
Munsen said the team will focus on working on ways to improve the short game this week in practice.
Mitchell competes in the Brookings Invite on Thursday in Brookings.
