PIERRE -- The Mitchell High School boys soccer team fell on the road, dropping a 4-0 decision to Pierre on Tuesday.

“This was a great game for us,” MHS coach Ken Novak said. “We started to find our gears and demonstrate more composure in building up with the ball.”

Pierre scored three goals in the first half, and then added a fourth after the break.

Mitchell finished with four shots, as new faces stepped up. Logan Oehlerking finished with 26 saves in the loss for the Kernels.

“We had some players step into new positions and put more time on the pitch than they have ever had before,” Novak said. “Caden Olegario and Malachi Branch played nearly 160 minutes today between JV and varsity, and they did so very well.”
