Kernel basketball games with Rapid City schools now set for late January

New game dates and times have been announced for the Mitchell High School basketball teams' contests with Rapid City Central and Rapid City Stevens.

MITCHELL — New game dates and times have been announced for the Mitchell High School basketball teams' contests with Rapid City Central and Rapid City Stevens.

The games — which were postponed from Dec. 16 and Dec. 17 — will now be played Friday, Jan. 27, and Saturday, Jan. 28, with the girls games in Mitchell and the boys contests in Rapid City.

The Mitchell girls will play Stevens at the Corn Palace on Jan. 27, with the varsity game at 7 p.m., while the Kernel boys will play at 8 p.m. at Rapid City Stevens.

On Saturday, Mitchell will face Rapid City Central, with the girls varsity at 1:30 p.m. at the Palace and the boys contest at 2:30 p.m. at Rapid City Central.

To accommodate the change, Mitchell's girls game against Sioux Falls Lincoln will be played on Friday, Jan. 20 at the Corn Palace, moved from Jan. 27.
