HURON -- Faulkton Area swept Bridgewater-Emery in straight sets and earned the consolation championship at the Class B state volleyball tournament on Saturday. The set scores were 25-19, 25-16 and 25-18.
The sixth-place finish was the best in program history for Bridgewater-Emery. Julia Weber led the Huskies with 10 kills and 15 digs, while Taylor Schallenkamp added six kills. Cara Meyer recorded 17 digs and Kerrigan Schultz followed with 15 digs and 13 assists.
Peyton Melius had 20 of Faulkton Area’s 42 kills, while recording 21 digs and 19 assists. Isabel Aesoph added 13 killa dn 21 digs. Shayna Heitmann posted 18 assists and six digs.
