Huskies edge Jaguars in five-set match: Bridgewater-Emery to play for consolation championship

HURON -- Familiar foes -- Bridgewater-Emery and Corsica-Stickney -- played a five-set marathon match on Friday at the Huron Arena.

The Huskies, who swept the Jaguars earlier this season, claimed the five-set victory 25-17, 25-19, 14-25, 22-25 and 15-11.

Julia Weber paced the Huskies with 23 kills and 32 digs. Kerrigan Schultz engineered the offense with 40 assists and added 10 digs.

Taylor Schallenkamp added eight kills, while Cara Meyer finished with 29 digs. Sara Hofer and Marah Hofer both had 14 digs apiece. Weber and Meyer had two of the team's five aces.

For Corsica-Stickney, Morgan DeLange finished with 13 kills and six digs. Paige Wright posted 12 kills and 13 digs. Raven Barse added 11 kills and 20 digs. Morgan Clites logged a team-high 34 digs, while Sutten Eide recorded 41 assists and 21 digs. Avery Broughton finished with 20 digs and seven kills.

The Huskies play Faulkton Area at 2 p.m. today in the consolation championship. The Jaguars play Hitchcock-Tulare at noon today in the seventh-place match.
