HUMBOLDT - The Humboldt/Hartford Legion baseball team took down Alexandria Post 41 Monday night 11-6 in Humboldt. A five-run sixth inning helped put the game out of reach for the Trojans.
Sam Swier was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored, while Tanner Schauneman had a 2-for-3 game with two runs scored for H/H. Schauneman was the winning pitcher in relief, throwing two innings and allowing one hit and no runs.
For the Angels from Alexandria, Wyatt Kayser was 3-for-5 with a run scored and Josh Feiner was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two doubles, while Aaron Wenande had two runs scored. Levi Doyle and Tucker Kingsbury each had two RBIs in the loss, in which the Angels committed five errors. Feiner was the losing pitcher, throwing 5 1/3 innings, allowing nine hits and four earned runs.
Alexandria (1-2) plays at Dell Rapids on Wednesday.
