IOWA CITY, Iowa - University of Iowa defensive tackle Brady Reiff, a native of Parkston, was arrested for public intoxication early Saturday.
Reiff, age 22, was arrested in Iowa City at 2:44 a.m., according to police records and released at 9:30 a.m., according to the Iowa City Press-Citizen.
In a statement issued by the university's athletic department, Athletic Director Gary Barta acknowledged the incident and said that Reiff would be subject to the school's student-athlete code of conduct and team rules. Public intoxication is a simple misdemeanor in Iowa, the newspaper reported.
Reiff, a 6-foot-3, 272-pound junior, has been listed as a starting defensive tackle heading into the 2018 season, which opens Sept. 1 against Northern Illinois.
