HURON -- Viborg-Hurley held Hanson without a field goal for the final 4 minutes, 40 seconds to take seventh place in Class B with a 40-37 win.
The No. 4 Beavers led by five in the second quarter, but the seventh-seeded Cougars managed to grab a four-point halftime lead. Hanson trailed by one heading into the fourth quarter but could not secure the win.
Sydney Voss had a game-high 16 points, five rebounds and two steals for Viborg-Hurley (19-6), while Nevaeh Ronke had 10 points, 14 rebounds and two steals.
Mekiah Campbell led Hanson (19-6) with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Shelby Hernandez pitched in 12 points and seven rebounds. Annalyse Weber had eight points and two steals.
