HURON -- The Mitchell High School gymnastics team was edged by Watertown at the Huron Triangular on Tuesday.
The Arrows finished with 148.600 points, while the Kernels recorded 145.400 points. Huron finished with 131.150 points.
Mitchell’s Emily Moody was second in the all-around with 36.500 points. Watertown’s Myah Morris took first with 38.150 points.
Mitchell’s Kyra Gropper tied for third in the bars (9.000), while teammate Joslin Sommerville finished fifth with 8.750.
In the balance beam, Mitchell’s Masy Mock tied for third with a 9.250. Moody took fifth with a 9.200. Moody also finished fourth in the floor exercise with a 9.350. Bentley Bates tied for fifth in the vault with a 9.350.
On Monday, the Mitchell High School gymnastics team finished in third place at the Pierre Invitational on Monday. The Kernels finished with 137.075 points.
Harrisburg won the team title with 140.675, while Pierre finished in second with 137.175 points.
Harrisburg’s Kenzee Danielson was the all-around winner (37.375).
Mitchell’s Alyssa Hughes placed third in bars with an 8.700, while Aubrey Gelderman finished fourth in the beam (9.025). Mitchell’s Sidney Malde placed fifth in the floor (9.050) and Tessa Allen captured fifth in the vault (8.775).
The Kernels will compete at the Watertown Invitational on Saturday.
