Northwestern College senior Darbi Gustafson earned a pair of honors for her exploits on the basketball court last week.
The Ethan graduate was named NAIA Division II player of the week, along with earning Great Plains Athletic Conference player of the week on Tuesday after averaging 24.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in two Northwestern wins over top-25 opponents.
Gustafson posted 20 points, 11 rebounds and three steals in a 73-71 win over No. 20 Jamestown on Dec. 5 and followed it up with a career-high 29 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks in Saturday’s 95-71 rout of No. 25 Midland. She also shot a total of 63 percent from the floor in both games.
No. 5 Northwestern (10-1) puts its seven-game winning streak on the line Wednesday against Briar Cliff.
