Gridiron featured game of the week: Top-5 matchup as Blackhawks open season

This week's livestream will be the No. 4 Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks vs. the No. 3 Sioux Valley Cossacks. It will be featured on mitchellrepublic.com.

The Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks are ready to get the season rolling.

A season ago, they finished 7-3 but open the season with a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday, Aug. 27, in Wessington Springs. The Blackhawks host Sioux Valley in a matchup of top-five rated teams in Class 11B.

This is the second livestream high school football game the Mitchell Republic will feature this season. The first game the newspaper featured was Hanson vs. Parkston.
