RAPID CITY-- Jason Greenway and Chamberlain assistant track coach Becky Jensen were both awarded for their services and talent at the state track tournament Saturday in Rapid City.

Greenway was awarded with the Dakota Relays Gold Medal Scholarship for his dedication and success during his track career at Mitchell High School and Jensen was honored for 25 years of outstanding service and officiating as a track coach with the Chamberlain track team.

Greenway, who will be taking his talents to Augustana next year, said he felt pretty honored to be recognized with the award.

"It feels good," Greenway said about receiving the award.

"It's nice to be recognized for all my hard work that I put in over my high school career so I'm pretty happy."

Greenway said he does feel sad that his high school track career ended over the weekend, but he's really looking forward to being able to run track for Augustana and continue his track career at the next level.

"I guess it's not as bad for me as it is for some people because I'm going to be able to continue running next year," he said.

"I guess it's just nice to be done with everything for the summer and then be able to pick it up again next year."

Jensen, who has been a coach for the Chamberlain track team since 1986, said she felt fortunate to be recognized on Saturday.

"It was really cool that I got my 25 year coach award because this summer I'll be awarded with the girls' coach of the year award, so it all ties together very nicely," she said.

Jensen said her favorite part about track is the competiveness and seeing all the athletes that come out each year

"I love watching the competition out here at the state track meet," she said.

"(Chamberlain) had some really good performances this weekend."

When asked if she was ready to coach another 25 years, Jensen laughed and said she wasn't sure about that.

"We'll see," she said.
