Great Plains Conference announces first girls hoops classic

The Great Plains Conference announced its first ever Girls Basketball Classic, to be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, on the campus of Mount Marty College in Yankton.

The Great Plains Conference announced its first ever Girls Basketball Classic, to be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, on the campus of Mount Marty College in Yankton.

The conference's 12 teams were divided into divisions, featuring east and west teams, culminating with the championship game at 6:30 p.m. between Avon and Corsica-Stickney.

Freeman Academy/Marion and Marty begin the day's slate of games at 11 a.m., followed by Centerville and Colome at 12:30 p.m. and Gayville-Volin and Burke at 2 p.m. Scotland takes on Andes Central/Dakota Christian at 3:30 p.m. and Alcester-Hudson battles Tripp-Delmont/Armour at 5 p.m.

All of the games are scheduled to be played at Laddie E. Cimpl Arena.
