B-E girls take Region 3B tourney by two strokes
The Bridgewater-Emery girls golf team captured the Region 3B tournament championship on Monday at Lakeview Golf Course after edging Garretson by two strokes.
The Huskies shot a 356 as a team, aided by Shaylee Longe, who posted a 107 en route to a second-place finish. Teammate Darby Hurd was one stroke behind in third place.
Parker's Breanna Reynolds was the medalist with a 93. Freeman's Madison Hofer tied for seventh with a 125 and Paige Auch was ninth with a 137.
On the boys side, Freeman's Tryg Aanenson nipped Parker's Trey Christensen by one stroke to win the individual 3B championship with a 78.
The Flyers placed third as a team with a 283, behind first-place Parker (252) and second-place Garretson (267).
Freeman's Bailey Sage tied for sixth with an 88, while Canistota's Logan Heinzmann was ninth with a 93 and Bridgewater-Emery's Jackson Stahl was tied for 11th with a 98.
