VERMILLION-The Parkston girls golf team finished one stroke behind Vermillion for third place at the Vermillion Invite on Monday at The Bluffs Golf Course.

The Trojans finished fourth after posting a score of 376, 15 strokes behind champion West Central and nine behind second-place Madison.

Parkston also finished with a pair of golfers in the top-10 on the individual leaderboard. Ellie Weidenbach and Dani Norden both shot 88 to end the tournament seventh and eighth, respectively. Meanwhile, Tylee Neugebauer finished 16th with a 95.

Vermillion's Alex Carr was the medalist, shooting a 78 to finish one stroke ahead of Sioux Falls Christian's Lauren Tims for the win.

Koepsell and Reif tie for seventh at Sioux Valley Invite

VOLGA-Howard's Kenedy Koepsell and McCook Central/Montrose's Katie Reif tied for seventh place at the Sioux Valley Invitational on Monday. They both carded 95's.

MCM's Maggie Miles shot a 98 and tied for 10th place, while Howard's Piper Thompson finished in 13th place with a 100. Howard's Trinity Palmquist shot a 104 and tied for 15th place.

In the boys tourney, Howard's Lane Hodges and Ethan Cross tied for fifth place with 86's.
