SIOUX CENTER, Iowa-Dakota Wesleyan University entered two women's golf teams in the two-day Dordt Invite and after the first day of competition on Thursday at The Ridge Golf Club, the DWU blue squad sits in fourth place and the white team is in seventh.

The DWU blue team shot a 331 in the first round and sits 20 strokes behind first-place Morningside, while the DWU white team shot a 367.

Jade Burr led the way for the Tigers, shooting a 5-over-par 77 to end the first round in fifth place, two strokes behind Jamestown's Jenna Knutson for the lead.

Parkston native Jayden Bormann and DWU teammate Brooke Ehlers both shot 83 and are currently tied for 17th. Platte native Nicole Nelson is in a six-way tie for 22nd with an 85, while Megan Hinker is one stroke behind in 28th and Kaitlyn Greenhoff is tied for 29th with an 87.

Play concludes today in Sioux Center, Iowa.
