Emily Reynen scored 17 points and Ashley Schmit added 15 as the Mitchell Christian girls basketball team defeated Wolsey-Wessington 40-26 on Tuesday in Mitchell.
Reynen had nine rebounds, two steals, three assists and one block, while Schmit added five rebounds and one block in the win.
The Golden Eagles made 17 field goals and six free throws while holding Wolsey-Wessington to eight first half points.
Wolsey-Wessington's Jadyn McCready had nine points and the Warbirds committed 22 turnovers in the loss.
MCS (1-0) plays Iroquois on Friday in Iroquios, while Wolsey-Wessington (0-1) plays Corsica-Stickney on Thursday in Wolsey.
