Golden Eagle girls snap six-game losing streak

Emily Reynen had a double-double and the Mitchell Christian girls basketball team grabbed a home victory Monday night over Corsica-Stickney 34-21 at Baas Auditorium in Mitchell.

The Golden Eagles' Reynen had 19 points and 13 rebounds, helping MCS snap a six-game losing streak in which four games were decided by 10 points or less.

Kelsey Thompson added five points and Abbie Reynen had five points, five assists and five rebounds.

"The girls played a solid game," said Mitchell Christian girls basketball coach Jackie Van Laecken. "It felt good to get a team win. Emily had a really nice game for us tonight."

For the Jaguars, Courtney Menning had six points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Alexis Tilton was the top scorer with seven points for Corsica-Stickney.

Mitchell Christian (4-6) plays at Avon today. Corsica-Stickney (2-9) plays at Ethan on Friday.
