The Mitchell Christian boys basketball got back in the win column on Thursday.
The Golden Eagles picked up a 43-34 boys basketball win over Kimball/White Lake at MCS gym and already surpassed last year’s win total.
Mitchell Christian (2-1) coach Jesse Tolsma said the team focused on playing a four-quarter game. The Golden Eagles accomplished that on Thursday, while also concentrating on defense.
“We played really excellent defense,” Tolsma said. “We did a really nice job focusing on taking away the paint and not giving up any contested shots. So that was a big key for us tonight was the defensive end.”
Nathanael Anderberg paced Mitchell Christian with 16 points, including 10 in the first half.

“Nathanael really did a nice job of steadying us at those where we really needed a bucket,” Tolsma said.
Max Reynen logged a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Aiden Lieber added nine points.
KWL’s Bennett Namanny scored a game-high 17 points. The WiLdKats (1-1) play Hanson on Monday at the Corn Palace.
Mitchell Christian hosts Wessington Springs on Saturday.
