Kroupa named volleyball MVP of CBH Conference

Kimball/White Lake senior volleyball player Mary Kroupa was named the Most Valuable Player of the Custer Battlefield Highway Conference.
She was also named to the all-conference first team. Ethan had two named to the first team in junior Darbi Gustafson and senior Anna Mueller. Mount Vernon/Plankinton also had two on the first team in junior Dani Stoltz and sophomore Mikayla Weiss.
The Rustlers finished atop the conference, going 5-0.
Texas Tech tops South Dakota State men 68-54
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Jordan Tolbert scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Texas Tech to a 68-54 win over South Dakota State on Thursday night.

Dusty Hannahs added 12 points and hit on all nine free throw attempts and Jaye Crockett had 10 points and seven rebounds.
Brayden Carlson led South Dakota State with 14 points, hitting 4-of-11 3-pointers, and Cody Larson added 12 points.
The Red Raiders got out to a quick lead with four points from Dejan Kravic and led the whole way. The Jackrabbits cut it to six at 56-50 with 5:48 left in the game on a Carlson 3-pointer but Hannahs responded with one of his own to help Tech run away with it.
The Red Raiders (4-1) dominated SDSU (1-4) in points in the paint, 33 to 18, and scored 22 points off of turnovers compared with seven for SDSU.
Young scores 13 in Jacks’ win over Pepperdine

BROOKINGS - Mitchell native Kerri Young scored 13 points off the bench for South Dakota State University in an 88-55 win over Pepperdine University Thursday at Frost Arena in Brookings.
The Jackrabbits (3-2) were led by Megan Waytashek with 26 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while Tara Heiser added 10 points.
Bria Richardson led Pepperdine with 15 points.
SDSU plays in the Puerto Vallarta Hardwood Tournament of Hope and will start with a game against Texas Christian University at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
USD women fall to Drake 89-81 in OT

SIOUX FALLS - The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team dropped an 89-81 overtime decision to Drake University Thursday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.

The Coyotes had five players reach double-digits in scoring, led by Raeshel Contreras with 17 points. Polly Harrington added 13 points for USD in the loss.
Drake also had five players in double figures and was paced by Kyndal Clark with a game-high 26.
USD plays Boise State in its home opener at 2 p.m. Sunday in Vermillion.
