Four Kernels land on all-state softball squads

The Mitchell High School softball team placed four players on the South Dakota all-state teams.

Seniors Tori Misiaszek and Hannah Sibson were named to first team, while senior Haley Linke and freshman Keirstyn Krcil were second-team honorees.

Misiaszek capped off her Kernel career as the leader in home runs (13), RBIs (94) and second in hits (111). She's also second in school history in all-time wins with 17 and third in career strikeouts with 191. This season, she led the team in hits, RBIs, doubles, triples, batting average and home runs. She batted .422 and drove in 24 runs.

Sibson finished with a .358 batting average and drove in nine runs from the leadoff spot.

Linke batted .354 and knocked in 10 runs this season. Krcil finished with a .322 batting average and drove in 18 runs. She finished with six doubles.

Misiaszek and senior Jordyn Cranny were named to the all-state tournament team. Misiaszek batted .455 at state and drove in three runs. Cranny hit .555 at the state tourney.

Sibson and Krcil were named to the All-Eastern South Dakota Conference tournament team. Misiaszek and Kate Nash were honorable mention selections.
