The South Dakota Prep Media football polls for the week of Sept. 13, 2021 are listed below, ranking the top-five teams in each class. First-place votes received are indicated in parentheses.

Class 11AAA

Shuffled in the top-5: The top-two remain the Tigers and the Lynx, followed by the Cavaliers up to No. 3 from No. 5. Lincoln also bumped up one spot after a close loss to Harrisburg. Washington is now fifth after a shutout win over previously No. 3 O’Gorman.

Class 11AA

1. Tea Area (16), 3-0, 91

2. Pierre (2), 2-1, 69

3. Aberdeen Central, 3-0, 66

4. Yankton, 2-1, 32

5. Brookings, 2-1, 25

Top of the class: The pecking order in 11AA becomes clearer with Tea Area at No. 1 for a third straight week, followed by the defending state champion Governors, who worked past Sturgis on Saturday. Aberdeen Central remains undefeated and is No. 3.

Falling: Watertown falls out of the top-5, replaced by Brookings after a 16-0 Bobcats win on Friday at Watertown Stadium.

Class 11A

1. Canton (17), 3-0, 93

2. Madison (2), 3-0, 77

3. Dell Rapids, 2-1, 44

4. SF Christian, 3-0, 41

5. Lennox, 3-0, 28

Steady at the top: No changes in the top-5 in Class 11A, with eyes starting to peek ahead to the showdown between Canton and Madison on Sept. 24 at Trojan Field. Canton faces Vermillion this week, while Madison hosts Milbank in the Bulldog Bowl.

Class 11B

New in the poll: With a slightly smaller voting pool than last week, BEE gets the move up to No. 2 over Sioux Valley, a team it beat in the season opener 20-14. Aberdeen Roncalli continues to impress, reaching 4-0 and MCM takes Elk Point-Jefferson’s spot after a road win over the Huskies on Friday, 36-20.

Class 9AA

On the move: Parkston’s upset of Platte-Geddes last week was bound to turn over the poll this week. Idle Hanson moves up to the top spot, with Garretson moving to No. 2. Platte-Geddes settles in at No. 3, followed by 4-0 Florence/Henry at No. 4 and Chester Area slotting in at No. 5 after a loss to Class 9A No. 2 Howard. At 2-2 but with losses to No. 1 and No. 3, Parkston is the first team out of the top-5 this week.

Class 9A

Lined up in a row: The top-5 remains the same again this week, with Wolsey-Wessington the only team that’s not 4-0 among the ranked.

Class 9B

1. Gayville-Volin (13), 3-0, 82

2. Faulkton Area (2), 3-1, 72

3. Avon (2), 3-0, 55

4. Harding Co./Bison (2) 2-1, 52

5. Potter County, 3-1, 20.

On the move: The No. 1 and No. 2 slots remain with Gayville-Volin and Faulkton Area, with Avon and Harding County/Bison swapping spots this week. Potter County’s win over Hitchcock-Tulare lifts them to No. 5.

Falling out: A second straight loss from Sully Buttes moves them out of the No. 5 spot this week.
