MILLER -- Winner capped off a perfect regular season with a 56-0 shutout win over Miller/Highmore-Harrold on Monday.
The Warriors piled up 208 rushing yards and received touchdowns from six different players, as they jumped out to a 40-0 lead in the first quarter. Trevor Peters finished with 60 rushing yards on three carries and two touchdowns. Evan Farner, Kaden Keiser, Sam Kruger and Aaron Gilchrist all scored a rushing touchdown. Preston Norrid added an interception return for a score. Landon Thieman posted four tackles and Joren Bruun had a interception.
Peyton McConnell threw for 34 yards and rushed for 29 yards for the Rustlers. Chase Cermak added 31 receiving yards. Colby Werdel recorded 7.5 tackles on defense.
Winner ends the regular season with a 8-0 mark. Miller-Highmore/Harrold (0-8) plays Mount Vernon/Plankinton on Friday in Mount Vernon.
New Underwood 20, Lyman 0
LYMAN -- New Underwood finished with 207 total yards and picked up a shutout win over Lyman in prep football action on Monday.
Emmitt Richter led the way with 112 passing yards and two touchdowns. Owen Perry finished with 65 rushing yards on 14 carries and one touchdown. He added a 60-yard touchdown reception and Coy Anderson also had a receiving score. Anderson also finished with two interceptions on defense.
For Lyman, Teagan Gourneau threw for 36 yards. Corwin Mohr-Eymer added 55 rushing yards on 12 carries. Tyson Floyd had 35 receiving yards. Defensively, Sam McClanahan recorded two interceptions.
New Underwood (5-2) hosts Wall on Friday. Lyman (3-4) plays at Philip on Friday.
