SALEM -- Class 11B No. 1 Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan remained perfect on the season with a 57-35 win over McCook Central/Montrose in a prep football game on Friday.
Brady Hawkins powered the Seahawks with 222 passing yards and five passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Jonah Hofer added 120 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while also finishing with 104 receiving yards and two more scores. Chase Arend recorded 76 receiving yards and one touchdown. He also posted an interception on defense. Rylee Schultz had two receiving touchdowns. Defensively, Grant Andrews posted 14 tackles. and two sacks, while Eric Gustafson had seven tackles.
Jacobi Krouse rushed for a four-yard touchdown to start the scoring, finishing with 155 yards and two touchdowns. Blake Gessner added 137 yards and two scores, while racking up seven tackles on defense. MCM gained 394 yards and picked up 23 first downs in the loss.
The Seahawks (5-0) play Flandreau on Sept. 27 in Bridgewater. The Fighting Cougars (4-1) play Sioux Valley on Oct. 4 in Salem.
KWL 36, Platte-Geddes 8
PLATTE -- Class 9A No. 4 Kimball/White Lake was led by Nolan Kirsch’s four touchdowns in its prep football win over Platte-Geddes on Friday.
Kirsch went 5-for-9 for 103 yards and a touchdown through the air, while rushing for 171 yards and three scores on 26 carries. Rafe Kiehn also scored to go with his 57 yards, while adding 17 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss on defense. Caden Lenz led the team with 57 receiving yards and scored. Justin Becker added nine tackles in the win.
Kelby VanDerWerff threw for 122 yards and a score. On the ground, Myles Kott rushed 12 times for 63 yards. VanDerWerff completed a 30-yard pass to Jalen Severson for the Black Panthers’ lone score. Defensively, Landon Schulte racked up 16 tacklesand Grayson Hanson added 10.
The WiLdKats (4-0) play Bon Homme on Sept. 27 in White Lake. The Black Panthers (2-2) play Wolsey-Wessington on Sept. 27 in Wolsey.
MVP 55, Chamberlain 21
MOUNT VERNON -- Class 11B No. 4 Mount Vernon/Plankinton racked up 434 yards of total offense and rolled to a prep football win over Chamberlain on Friday.
Jesse Hastings powered the rushing attack with 197 yards on 18 carries. He finished with four rushing touchdowns and an 82-yard kickoff return for a score. Lincoln Klooz added 101 rushing yards on the ground on 14 carries and one rushing touchdown. Hunter Pranger carried the ball 10 times for 79 yards and a score. He also had 7.5 tackles on defense.
For Chamberlain, the Cubs finished with 210 total yards. Max Hawk threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns. Jasiah Thompson rushed the ball seven times for 37 yards and Chamberlain’s other touchdown. Hayden Evans hauled in 13 receptions for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Remington Rossow had eight tackles, while Nash Hutmacher finished with seven tackles.
The Titans (3-1) travel to Winner on Sept. 27. The Cubs (3-2) host Lead-Deadwood on Sept. 27.
Canistota/Freeman 48, Irene-Wakonda 16
CANISTOTA -- Class 9A No. 2 Canistota/Freeman used a 40-point first half to get past Irene-Wakonda in prep football action on Friday.
Trey Ortman completed 5 of 13 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown, rushed for 68 yards and two scores and intercepted a pass on defense. Tyce Ortman led the Pride on the ground with 73 rushing yards. Collin Helma gained 60 yards and a touchdown, and Bailey Sage scored twice on the ground. Logan Katzer caught three passes for 44 yards and a score.
Levi Larsen went 28-for-39 through the air for 264 yards and a touchdown to Tate VanBeek. Jake Jensen led the Eagles with 115 receiving yards on 11 catches. Defensively, Dieken Bahm recorded an interception and five tackles, including one for a loss.
The Pride (5-0) play Castlewood on Oct. 4 in Freeman. The Eagles (2-3) play Howard on Sept. 27 in Irene.
Winner 54, Valentine (Neb.) 14
WINNER -- Class 11B No. 2 Winner remained perfect on the season with a convincing win over Valentine (Neb.) on Friday.
The Warriors piled up 371 yards and rushed for 313 yards on the ground. Phillip Jorgensen rushed for 108 yards on nine carries and scored one touchdown. Trevor Peters had 103 rushing yards on 14 carries and two rushing touchdowns, while recording two interceptions on defense. Sam Kruger had 70 rushing yards and one touchdowns.
Brady Fritz threw for 58 yards and one touchdown, while adding an interception on defense. Kaden Kaiser also rushed for a touchdown in the win. Joren Bruun added a receiving touchdown. Preston Norrid finished with 4.5 tackles.
The Warriors (5-0) host Mount Vernon/Plankinton on Sept. 27.
Burke 54, Colome 14
BURKE -- Burke gained 356 total yards and scored 46 points in the first half to take down Colome on Friday.
The Cougars picked up 21 first downs in the win, with Ethan DeLong rushing for 102 yards and three touchdowns. Finn Hanson added 89 yards and a score, while Taron Serr rushed for 39 and a touchdown. Hunter Van Nieuwenhuyse passed for 69 yards, connecting with Hanson for a 53-yard touchdown. Jaden Frank and Serr both intercepted a pass.
Riley Shippy rushed 15 times for 65 yards and a touchdown for the Cowboys. Michael Supik caught two passes for 48 yards.
The Cougars (3-1) play Tripp-Demont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Sept. 27 in Armour. The Cowboys (1-4) host Sunshine Bible Academy on Oct. 4.

WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Wagner held Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central to 130 yards and forced two turnovers to earn its first win of the year.
Jaden Peters threw for 144 yards and added 59 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Lance Soukup used his 20 carries to gain a team-high 128 yards and a score. Malcolm Janis caught four passes for 63 yards. Tony Bruguier racked up 11 sacks, while Peters and Janis both intercepted a pass.
Cayden Slykhuis passed for 78 yards. Clay Olinger rushed for a team-high 18 yards. Defensively, Quinten Christensen intercepted a pass for the Blackhawks.

PRESHO -- Lyman rushed for 210 yards on the ground as it defeated Rapid City Christian via the 50-point mercy rule on Friday.
Teagan Gourneau threw for 69 yards and three touchdowns for the Raiders with Corwin Mohr-Eymer gaining 111 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Gourneau also rushed for 65 yards as Colton Collins, Sam McClanahan and Justice Jessop all finding the end zone on the ground. Ty Schnidler caught two scores and Declan Cleveland caught one. Defensively, Gourneau and Stockton McClanahan both intercepted a pass.
Sam Schlabach passed for 31 yards and rushed for 72 more. The Comets gained 132 yards in the loss and gained eight first downs.
The Raiders (2-2) play Jones County/White River on Sept. 27 in Murdo. The Comets (0-5) travel to Edgemont on Sept. 27.

CENTERVILLE -- Mason Dennis rushed for two touchdowns on Friday in a win over Centerville in prep football action.
Dennis completed 3 of 12 passes for 49 yards. He also rushed for 94 yards to go with his two touchdowns. Turner Nicholson and Ty Mogck added 61 and 57 yards, respectively. Mogck also led the defense with 11 tackles, while Micah DeBoer racked up nine.
Hunter Ellis connected with Hayden Ellis for the Tornadoes only touchdown, a 20-yard play. Defensively, Owen Hunter and Hayden Ellis bot had seven tackles. Jack Walters finished with eight.
The Highlanders (3-2) play Gayville-Volin on Oct. 4 in Gayville. The Tornadoes (1-3) play Estelline/Hendricks on Sept. 27 in Estelline.

DELL RAPIDS -- Class 9B No. 2 Dell Rapids St. Mary scored 34 points in the second quarter as it took down Avon via the 50-point mercy rule on Friday.
The Cardinals gained 307 yards, with Payton Park rushing for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Weston Geraets gained 74 yards, while Connor Libis rushing for two scores. The Cardinals recorded eight rushing touchdowns in the win. Eli Longville had a team-high five tackles, helping them hold Avon to 14 yards.
Kory DeJong gained 15 yards on seven carries for Avon. Lincoln Thury had six tackles, while Brady Bierema and Riley Rucktaeschel both added five.
The Cardinals (5-0) host Centerville on Oct. 4. The Pirates (0-5) play Gayville-Volin on Sept. 27 in Gayville.
Viborg-Hurley 56, Corsica-Stickney 6
CORSICA -- Class 9AA No. 2 Viborg-Hurley gained 378 yards and limited Corsica-Stickney to 174 yards in a prep football win on Friday.
Chase Mason went 5-for-11 for 135 yards and two touchdowns, as well as rushing for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Angel Johnson gained 112 yards and two rushing touchdowns on six carries, while catching three passes for 86 yards and another score. Gradee Sherman had a team-high 11 tackles for the Cougars, with Mason chipping in nine.
Caden Van Drongelen gained a team-high 62 rushing yards and scored once on 14 carries for the Jaguars. As a team, they racked up 174 yards and 12 first downs.

TRIPP -- Parkston rolled up 468 total yards and rushed for 323 in a prep football victory over Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Friday.
Nate Doering powered Parkston with 145 passing yards on 3-for-5 passing and threw three touchdowns. Rylan Leischner rushed for 117 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown. He also added a receiving touchdown and two interceptions on defense. Cole Prunty added 110 rushing yards on seven carries and one touchdown. Cole Van Zee finished with two touchdowns and 64 rushing yards. He added 10 tackles on defense. Nathan Boettcher and Max Scott both had receiving touchdowns.
For the Nighthawks, Gavin Westendorf had their lone touchdown. Cade Faulkner threw for 37 yards. The Nighthawks finished with 102 total yards of offense.
The Trojans (1-3) host Gregory on Sept. 27. The Thunderhawks (2-3) play Burke on Sept. 27 in Armour.
Howard 50, Chester Area 0
HOWARD -- Howard picked up a prep football win over Chester Area on Friday.
Kieffer Klinkhammer led the Tigers with 100 rushing yards on four carries and one score. Riley Genzlinger added 89 rushing yards on six carries and one touchdown. Lane Miller scored on a pick-six and also scored a 35-yard rushing touchdown. Isaac Feldhaus threw for 85 yards and connected with Paul Winker on a seven-yard touchdown reception. Sam Aslesen had 31 receiving yards and Genzlinger had 31 receiving yards. Jaxon Kampshoff recorded eight tackles and John Callies posted seven tackles.
For Chester, Stratton Eppard had 68 rushing yards and 15 passing yards.
The Tigers (3-1) play Irene-Wakonda on Sept. 27 in Irene. The Flyers (2-3) play Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Oct. 4 in Ramona.

Baltic 54, Menno/Marion 20 in Marion: Class 9AA No. 5 Baltic picked up its third win of the season with a 34-point victory over Menno/Marion on Friday. The Bulldogs scored the first 14 points of the game, then extended their lead to 26-6 at halftime. Baltic led 48-14 after the third quarter, as well. The Bulldogs (3-1) host Hanson on Sept. 27. The Razorbacks (0-5) play Platte-Geddes on Oct. 4 in Platte.
