Dakota Wesleyan University football had a pair of players honored by the Great Plains Athletic Conference on Monday after defeating Presentation College 44-0 in its home opener.
Canova native and Tiger running back Luke Loudenburg was named the GPAC offensive player of the week, while kicker/punter Tate Gale received the honor on special teams.
Loudenburg rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in the Tigers' win. He also caught a touchdown pass to go with his 38 receiving yards. His 336 rushing yards and four touchdowns both lead the GPAC through the first two weeks of the season.
Gale went 3-for-3 on field goals and 5-for-5 on extra points in the win. He made field goals from 17, 21 and 30 yards out, moving his season mark to 4-for-5. He also averaged 30.8 yards per punt on five attempts. He had a 51-yard punt, too.
