The Dakota Wesleyan University football team had five players named to the 2014 Daktronics-NAIA scholar athlete team.
Tiger senior offensive lineman Jon Knight, senior defensive back Jared Van Winkle, junior defensive back Jordan Bucholz, junior defensive back Tanner Munk and junior defensive back Mike Rohde all earned their first NAIA scholar athlete honor.
To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, as well as have achieved a junior academic status.
DWU had 13 athletes named NAIA scholar athletes earlier this month for volleyball, men's and women's soccer and cross country.
