SIOUX FALLS -- Findlay Prep didn't waste any time showing off its athletic talent at the Fifth Annual Mike Miller Classic.

The Pilots out of Las Vegas, Nev., opened the game with back-to-back dunks and used a 15-1 run in the second-half to pull away from Sioux Falls Lincoln. Findlay Prep won 77-52 Monday at the Sanford Pentagon.

"We locked down and got some stops in the second half," Findlay Prep first-year head coach Andy Johnson said. "We got some transition buckets and started to rebounded better, which helped lead to some easy scores."

Despite the onslaught of dunks and fast-paced basketball, the USA Today's No. 4-ranked Findlay Prep couldn't put the game away as Sioux Falls Lincoln trailed by two with 12 minutes left in the contest.

"I'm really proud of the kids effort tonight," Lincoln head coach Jeff Halseth said after the game. "Our kids played as hard as they could, and we knew it would be tough test. It's an experience our kids will never forget."

The slight scare didn't last long as the Pilots went on a 15-1 run and took control of the game while silencing a pro-Sioux Falls crowd at the Pentagon.

Allonzo Trier finished the game with 22 points and Derryck Thorton Jr. added 18 for the Pilots. Justin Jackson chipped in with 14 points in the win. Findlay Prep outrebounded Lincoln 54-51.

The Patriots were led by Kaleb Johnson, who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Addison Park added 13 points in the loss.

Sioux Falls Lincoln (3-1) plays St. Paul Central (Minn.) on Friday at the Sanford Pentagon.
