The Mitchell Christian School girls basketball team led visiting Sunshine Bible Academy by 13 points at halftime en route to snapping a three-game losing streak with a 42-28 win on Monday.
SBA managed two points against a stingy Golden Eagle defense in the first quarter, while Anna Cooper scored 13 of her team-high 15 points in the first half to balloon the lead.
"It's nice to get a win as we're coming down the stretch," MCS head coach Chris Nemec said. "We've got a back-to-back tomorrow night, so we play again tomorrow and we just hope it will continue."
In Thursday's loss, the game slipped away from Mitchell Christian (6-8) when Howard switched to a zone and forced the Golden Eagles to shoot from the outside.
On Monday, MCS was able to avoid a similar dilemma against Sunshine Bible Academy (3-12), knocking down six 3-pointers, including two apiece from Staci Wolbrink and Claire Lepke.

"Teams just keep packing it in on us and they're just daring us to take the outside shot," Nemec said. "So, we have to prove we can make the outside shot, otherwise they're going to really pack down on Anna and take her away."
Abby Haun scored a game-high 18 points for the Crusaders.
Wolbrink added 12 for Mitchell Christian, which is back in action Tuesday against James Valley Christian in Huron.
