HASTINGS, Neb.-The Dakota Wesleyan University women's track and field team took eighth place, while the men placed 11th at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday in Hastings, Neb.
DWU had 17 points in the women's division, while Doane College won the event with 235 points. On the men's side, DWU had 11 points and Doane won the event with 203.
Colome native Skylar Forgey set a new school record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 16.44 seconds, while Jessica Fossum broke the GPAC Championships record for the 800-meter run in the heptathlon with a time of 2:26.86.
Kristen Longville had a seventh-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 10.80 meters, while Abigail Collingham placed fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.50 meters.
For the DWU men, Ben Hammer took third in the discus with a toss of 49.11 meters and took sixth in the shot put with a mark of 15.75 meters. Daniel Porter took seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 13.47 meters.
