DWU women’s soccer earns shutout win

Alissa Betz and Hannah Bowes combined for a clean sheet to guide the Dakota Wesleyan University women’s soccer team to a 4-0 win over Doane (Neb.) on Saturday at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex. The Tigers scored two goals in each half to notch the Great Plains Athletic Conference win.

Betz saved a shot and Bowes recorded two saves.

Meanwhile, DWU had 13 shots on goal. Alondra Partida and Kamryn Harrop both scored in the first half to give DWU a 2-0 halftime lead. Alyssa Weidler netted a pair of goals in the second half.

DWU (6-2, 4-2 GPAC) plays Mount Marty at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Yankton.
