SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- The Dakota Wesleyan University’s undefeated start to the season came to a halt on Wednesday. Dordt (Iowa) took down the Tigers, 2-0, in Great Plains Athletic Conference action.
The Defenders scored a goal in each half, as Katherine Kooiman and Maddie Regnerus each scored. Elianna Van Hulzen saved 12 shots to keep the Tigers scoreless.
Dordt outshot DWU 20-12, but the Tigers held a 12-11 advantage in shots on goal. Alyssa Weidler and Kamryn Harrop both put three shots on target. Alissa Betz saved nine shots for DWU.
The Tigers (4-1, 2-1 GPAC) play Concordia (Neb.) at 5 p.m. Saturday in Seward, Nebraska.
