Briar Cliff (Iowa) notched a 2-0 shutout win at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex on Saturday to spoil the Dakota Wesleyan University women’s soccer team’s regular-season finale in Great Plains Athletic Conference play.
After a scoreless first half, Taylor Hill and Hannah Shuttleworth each netted a goal in the second half.
Alissa Betz allowed both scores, though did have seven saves. Hannah Bowes recorded two saves in the loss. DWU finished with three shots on goal, with Ruby Campa stopping all three shots for the Chargers.
DWU (9-5, 7-5 GPAC) qualified for the Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament in the spring. The dates and matchups will be announced at a later date.
