Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball got back to winning ways on Friday night, sweeping Briar Cliff in a home Great Plains Athletic Conference match. Set scores were 25-14, 26-24 and 25-14.
The Tigers set the pace in the match with a blazing opening set on the attack, hitting .552 with 18 kills. Ady Dwight had 11 kills and three blocks, while Jadie DeLange had seven kills and Mackenzie Miller posted six kills for DWU, which picked up 14 digs from Sara Herman. Dannielle Burns had three service aces. Madeline Else had 26 set assists, while McKenzie Buisker had four blocks.
Grace Hanno had seven kills and 11 digs for the Chargers (4-5, 0-4 GPAC), who had 22 attack errors and eight service errors.
DWU (6-2, 3-2 GPAC) will continue its homestand with back-to-back matches next week, hosting Presentation on Sept. 29 and Northwestern on Sept. 30 at the Corn Palace. Both matches are at 7:30 p.m.
